She had the implant put in 5 days ago and is worried because it is still very bruised & painful - she asked me to ask on her if this is normal?

Anyone out there who's had this - I'm sure she'd appreciate any advice....

My sister had one put in about a month ago and it was still sore two weeks later ,the nurse said it could happen.

Hope it eases soon.

Can be a bit sore and bruised for up to a couple of weeks.

Get it checked by the practice nurse or GP if she's concerned about it.

Mine was sore, tender and slightly bruised for more than a week

Hope yours feels better soon

Thanks - I'll let her know (she's at university, so she can go to the medical centre)

Mine wasn't too bruised, but it was tender and extremely itchy for over a week. Probably about a fortnight.

And the Dr who put it in was a v v experienced, gentle Dr Kildare type, so I reckon it was about as good as you get.
