Currently in the grip of my second attack of what might be gallbladder probelm this week.....pain really bad, like the worst indigestion ever or labout pains. Feels like indigestion but no burps coming out.

Passed in about two hours last time (but recurred overnight altho to lesser extent) so by time ambulance arrived I was feeling better and didn't got ot hsopital due to not wanting to leave 14 weeks old BF baby.

saw doc on monday and due to back pain as well diagnosed kidney infection. Been taking ABs since then and kidneys clearing niocely.

Bad attack of pain today again.

Anyhoo, upshot is, will painkillers help, or do I just have to ride it out?

bloody NHS postcode lottery . I hope you all get sorted soon.

Travel not an option unfortunstely as I have three DC including a toddler and a young BF baby.

A PN thread buddy waited ages for her op to come through and then she found out I think days before that she was pregnant and ahd to cancel. She has just had the baby so will no doubt go back on the list, poor thing.

Thanks for all your advice; I'm off to sleep it off I hope.

but lol, I have coeliac disease and am having some pelvic floor and SPD issues since DS2 was born and am just getting over a kidney infection. I said to DH that I'm like an old banger in need of a good service to which he retorted tht I'm actually proving to be uneconomical to run any more and he is going to trade me in for a younger model

night all.

I have gallstones and was hospitalised for 2 weeks until I was sent to another hospital to have an endoscopy to remove a stone blocking the bile duct.

Since then, the pain gradually reduced to me being pain-free and eating anything and everything (although I know this is silly).

The pain will only come back for me if another stone blocks the duct.

I do feel for you though as it was horrendous. I thought I was being a big wuss and just had indigestion.

A quick update.

After seeing the doc on Friday, the OOH doc on Saturday and then back to the OOH doc on Sunday as the pain was unbearable, I was sent to A&E and admitted. After another two very painful days with nothing shifting the pain and getting mild jaundice, the pain has gone, leaving me very tired and tender.

Ultrasound confirmed several rather large gallstones plus an enlarged bile duct due to a stone having been there and no doubt the cause of the pain as it passed. Ouch though; nothing was shifting it, but they wouldn't give me morphine as I'm BFing.

Got home last night, but will go back as a day patient to get my gallbladder removed; hopefully in 4-6 weeks. So, it's low fat all the way for me from now until then.

I lost over half a stone since Friday as well
