My sweet little dd is ill AGAIN & were weirdly hoping its just a bug

Otherwise shes back in hospital again for more tests and mummy eating her own insides.

She said she was tired all day today & we just put it down to having a long week and finishing very strong Anti biotics.

Last weekend she was in hospital for nasty UTI & was on IV fluids & Antibiotics. They bandied about Appendix , but decided it wasn't that. We have a follow up appt with a Paediatrician in 4 wks to have a look at things.

This afternoon she felt hot, so we gave calpol as she complained of tummy pain (much like lst wk) and then 20mins later started vomiting over and over for about 2hrs.

Shes now asleep, although still hot.

Dh & I dont knwo what to do with ourselves or eat for that matter encase its Noro . If we get it then we know its not UTI related & if we dont then were not sure. Family have said may be rumbling appendix after all.

NO idea but I would insist for an earlier appt with the paed as poor thing it sounds if she is not right - Fingers crossed for you.

Its A, cant believe shes got this going on, its like 2007 all over again. Wondering if somethings been brewing since then, as its 2nd time in 15mths.

Its awful when dc's are ill because they can't necssarily communicate what's wrong. How old is she?

My dd has had repeat UTI's and her symptoms vary, somtimes she gets tummy ache and sometimes sh gets a fever and sometimes both. She hasn't vomitted tho' but I don't know if this could be a rare symptom?

Bear in mind her immune system will be run down. Personally, I'd keep a close eye on her thro' the night and see how she is in the morning. You should follow your instincts and if at all worried phone nhs direct.

Weve checked on dd2 3 times now as well. Just encase she decides to upchuck in her sleep also .

A (DD1) is sleeping, but restless and making moan noises poor girl. Temp down to 37 nw , as pulled duvet off & window open. Not sure wot else to do , shes probably dehydrating now.

Yes monitoring for sure, its why my insides are like spaghetti. How mums with children who are critical cope, I dont know.

May be that it is just a bug like you said.

dd2 had a similar thing on her birthday last month.

Thank you for messages of support gals , really appreciate when alone with my 2. As many of my so called fiends have not bothered to see why she hasnt been at school. Although theyll all probably think I dont want phone calls! (but I do I do , I'm going crazy here, stuck in 4 walls with builders for adult company).

In the end I phoned the paed at the hospital and his PA said to come into the assessment clinic on the kids ward.

She got checked over and the long & the short of it was that she needed a different Anti biotic as it seems the bacteria shes has doesnt respond to Augmentin, so they made out a new scrip for Cefalexin. Her results to aid this change were available on TUESDAY last week but 9/10 cases normally are treatable with Augmentin ,but it seems my dd1 is the rarity in this.

Poor little thing has had to suffer all over again, her temp just would not come down again yesterday and again right up till 4am this morning & shes been in terrible pain. She has managed to not have a temp since today and seems a lot more buoyant. Im waiting to see how shes goes.

Dh says to may be stop giving her analgesics, to see if the temp has broken completely, but I dont really want her to suffer?
