Have run out of the plastic covers and thermometer doesn't apparently read accurately without them. Anyone know where to get more from?

I get Brun ones from Boots, they may well them?

rosie39forever · 08/02/2009 09:07

they have them at sainsburys pharmacy counter in packs of 40, about £3

hercules1 · 08/02/2009 09:08

Apparently according to my mother who used to work in a pharmacy you dont need the plastic covers unless you are using them with lots of different people for hygiene purposes. DOnt know if she's right though.

Seona1973 · 08/02/2009 12:55

I got spare ones in a Lloyds pharmacy

belgo · 08/02/2009 12:56

If you are using them on the same child, you can reuse the same plastic cap.

PlumBumMum · 08/02/2009 13:00

I don't worry about the plastic cap unless ear infect

belgo · 08/02/2009 13:01

I wouldn't use an ear thermometer in an ear that I thought was infected, wouldn't that be painful?

PlumBumMum · 08/02/2009 13:07

my one does not need any pressure on the ear so it shouldn't hurt, but I just mean't your highly unlikely to catch something from your ear when its being used by the one family that couldn't be caught by just touching someone if that makes sense

Thanks for your help. Some how none of hte pharmacies I have tried know what I am talking about. I used up all the little covers thinking they would be easy to get. I'll try further afield.
