My mother's cure for mouth ulcers was a "purge" or general cleaning out of bowels with laxatives.

If you are constipated they could be linked, otherwise they just tend to indicate general run downess. Try to eat more fruit and veg and perhaps pop a multivitamin for a while.

If the ulcer is always in the same place it could be because you have a sharp tooth.

not constipated and eat quite alot of veg.
I am quite tired though.

It is caused by low zinc/potassium and by being generally run down. Also if you are eating a lot of salt or sugary things, Pregnancy or smoking can cause them. If they are not healing they could have become infected which you need to get checked out, but if they are healing and popping up again is is probably a nutrient deficiency which your GP/ dietician can help with.

lots of sweet things is a weakness of mine.

Potassium - bananas, potatoes, almonds etc.
Zinc - seafood, egg yolks etc.

You could also be low in iron.

Sorry, clicked post too soon. I'd google the sources but have to dash out now. Why not try a multivit/mineral for a few days and it no improvement get a blood test.

Try Aloe Vera toothpaste. I used it a few weeks ago for an ulcer and it was gone within 2 days. It was so much better than bonjela or any of those.
