hi there, I just wanted to ask how was the procedure, if i will be in very bad shape afterwards as i have a toddler...and the other question is: when did you have your periods back? my story is that i just had the second miscarriage and it took 8 weeks to have my periods back and now they have discovered this cyst...
i am worried it will take a long time to conceive afterwards....
please any advice and reassurance!

Hi Lalatele, I had a laparoscopy for adhesions and a small cyst. I was really quite sore for 3 or 4 days and needed help with my toddler (felt v v tired from the GA and bloated from the gas). I didn't feel quite right for about 10 days - not horrendous, just not quite myself. Anyway, within 2 weeks I was swimming again and felt great to have everything sorted. Periods were a bit late for a few months (normally very regular). I then conceived in the 3rd month after the op

Good luck with your op & TTC.

by the way twoshakes, have you given birth yet? and sorry to ask you that but have u had any mc in the past? just because it seems that quite a few(not all) women with a cyst have mc at some point

I have had two laparoscopies for two big cysts and for the first i was back at work after two days. The second when i had my dds I think my mum came up to help out. Just a bit uncomfortable for a few days.

oh I am interested in this thread, as I have a dermoid cyst which I am getting removed laproscopically after I give birth to this baby (34 weeks)

I am crapping myself about the pain and recovery post surgery with a 3 year old and a new born

Sorry to hear about your m/c

it seems that it is not too bad then!! I am dreading it but also am looking forward to it as it is a way to close a bad chapter of my life I hope!

I had mine before I had children. I was a day patient. The first few days were quite diffcult - esp when moving - I hadnt realised how much you need your tummy muscles to do the smallest things!! I would say you'll need help for at least the first 4 days (esp if you have children). I had 4 incisions (three on bikini line and one in my tummy button - not sure whether this is normal though).
Fund the whole thing fascinating - turned out that mine was a clump of HAIR!!! I have seen pics on the net of them being teeth (which grossed me out a bit which is why I asked the doc what he found!!)
Good luck!

lilymolly, i had my second cyst out when mine were 18 months and a couple of months old and it wasn't too bad, you will need some kind of help though for a bit.
