Quick Question - Is this Normal?

It has been 30 hours since my last (ever) cigarette. I'm not using substitutes 'cos I want to get it all over with asap. I feel fine, but have been very spacey for the last couple of hours. DH came home and asked if I'd been at the gin already... (I hadn't but am starting now ).

Is this normal? Spaceyness, not gin, obv.

yes.

perfectly normal, don't worry.

Also, don't worry if you dream quite vividly or if your gums bleed, all perfectly normal.

well done.

(and try not to kill anyone when they ask if you've been at the gin - tis perfectly normal to want to kill people for seemingly innocent remarks)

Congatulations on quitting!

Think I remember a vague spaceyness when I gave up - the whole thing was a bit of a shock to the system!

Have you eaten today though?

fryalot · 04/02/2009 19:25

if you do feel the need for a bit of help, btw, you don't have to keep going with patches/gum or whatever as long as they recommend, just as long as you feel that you need a bit of assistance.

So it could still be over and done with, but slightly more comfortably

Thanks squonk - I'm an all or nothing person though so cold-turkey the only way that'll work for me {smile]

And I would never take enquiries as to gin drinking the wrong way - it is mother's milk you know

Thanks for congrats MissisB. And yes, I have Eaten. Biscuits mostly

congratulations on quitting - I also stopped and got REALLY bad migraines for about a month and felt very spaced out, everything looked strange! Good luck x

Well done. IME the spaceyness lasted for about three days, I had been a heavy smoker though. Tis the worst bit though, I think, so if you can make it through this you'll be well on your way.

fryalot · 04/02/2009 21:11

I get migraines but didn't notice any increase in them when I gave up smoking

PerArduaAdNauseum · 04/02/2009 21:15

Phew. Thanks all
