It started a few weeks ago - though then it was what I thought was a sensitive tooth. Tooth in question was already crowned and RCT'd, the dentist didn't x ray but gave me a/b's to take if it got worse.
It didn't, really - didn't hurt to bite on and it seemed very intermittent when it did hurt. I didn't take the tablets, have been using special mouthwash, and last week it pretty much stopped - I was very busy and forgot about it.
Now I am less busy I have remembered it and it hurts again. Last night I dreamed it was hurting and woke up in pain - which went again after a few minutes. It hasn't been hurting at night until now.
Also it now feels like different teeth - it's like the whole jaw aches, under my chin there is a little gland which hurts, and the lower and upper jaw both seem achy.
I've tried tapping the teeth with a fork handle and none of them hurts much more than the others - none of them hurt to bite on.
I took paracetamol at 4pm and it had stopped by 4.05 then just coming and going, which isn't normal for any tooth infection I've had before.
I'm wondering if it is possibly one of three things:
a) an infection somewhere, but surely it would hurt to bite?
b) tension resulting in my clenching jaw/ grinding teeth at night and when stressed?
or c) to do with my ears, as I burst my eardrum on that side with flu at Christmas, and it occasionally feels a bit odd.
I'm going to try and see dentist tomorrow morning and ask him to x ray it, but in the meantime,
What do you think?
