It's Diclofenac Sodium Enteric & I have been given it for pain possibly caused by kidney stones

All over the side effects leaflet it says don't take if you have kidney problems plus it says stop taking it if you have abdominal pain.......but I got the tablets because I was complaining about abdominal pain

I am confused

Did you get the tablets from the GP?

NorktasticNinja · 02/02/2009 18:26

Hmmm doesn't sound good. Try NHS direct?

KatyMac · 02/02/2009 18:28

I am probably being a wuss - but it doesn't make sense to me

Just wondering why he has prescibed tablets that might cause a problem? Does he know your history?

KatyMac · 02/02/2009 18:34

So would I be able to tell the difference between the abdominal pain they might cause & the abdominal pain I have?

Pain makes thinking hard

Just make sure that you take them after food or milk, as you would do aspirin or ibuprofen, and you'll be fine.

unfitmother · 02/02/2009 18:49

It says don't take if you ahve kidney problems meaning renal impairment, kidney stones do not cause that, though they do hurt.
Diclofenac is the drug of choice for kidney stones, always take with food to avaoid the abdominal problems mentioned.

Thanks for all your reassurance

I really appreciate it
