Twiglett · 07/04/2005 12:08

how much would you get

and do you like your picture in the papers?

if you do, then go for it

I wouldn't because I hate having my name / picture in papers / magazines (used to happen in trade press in old job)

misdee · 07/04/2005 12:09

btween £250-500 i think is standard. just really want to raise more awreness of the need for people to register for organ donation, and also cardiomyopathy itself. Will speak to dh about it more.

Have you been approached ?

I think you need to be pretty clear about your motives. As an expose of flaws in the system, to provoke action and/or apology, to raise the profile of his condition and cause, as a rl courage story etc. I would fear you could become a pawn in a political battle (especially given the forthcoming election) and ultimately your dh would not benefit. There might also be legal issues if you were considering action against the hospital for his pre Xmas problems. I'm sure one or two of the journalists on here could advise about such impliciations though.

I wouldn't personaly, because a friend was rather badly misrepresented by the press during the first Gulf War. But I also realise that you may well have very valid reasons for doing this. All I would say is make sure that the press share your aims.

true, about the probs with the other hospital; before xmas. and i dont want to be used i na political battle.

I was thinking of the fatch e fell ill suddenly at the age of 22, and the situation he is in now with waiting for a transplant. and all the signs of heart failure etc being highlighted as well.

havent been approuched, but lately have been thinking of how to help raise awareness.
