I woke in the night with a pain in one of my breasts & am now panicking!

I was sleeping fine, then woke up, turned over & experienced a sharp pain in my left breast. I had been lying on my left side & didn't feel any pain at all when lying still, just when i moved in certain positions. today it feels fine most of the time, but I can suddenly get this shooting pain when I move a certain way or press a certain area.
I have felt for lumps & can't feel anything. There are no other symptoms either, but I know I can't get to the doctors until after the weekend & am panicking.

I forgot to mention that I am on the contraceptive pill. Don't know if that will make a difference, but thought I would add that.

breast pain generally isnt a sign of breast cancer which i know is what you're worrying about

Thanks for the reassurance - that was my worry, but pain seems to have pretty much gone now so it may have been the way I was laying or a pulled muscle I guess. I am a bit of a panicky hypo at the best of times!
