Throat bleeding

My throat's been a bit sore the past couple of days. Have stopped smoking 2 weeks ago so thought it was just part and parcel of that. Got up this morning and had a real bad metallic taste in my mouth and was spitting out pink salvia.
It's definately my throat as my sinuses are clear and my throat's still sore. I've never done that before, not even when I had tonsillitus.
Obviously the doctors are closed but do you think it warrants a trip to the pharmacist (big hassel to get there) or is he just going to pack me off with strepsils or something?

Maybe you have an ulcer at the back which has burst, or some viral spots which have burst? Use a warm salt solution to gargle every 4 hours and it will help to heal whatever is there very quickly and alleviate the pain a bit.

Pharmacist will likely just sell you an expensive mouthwash. If you do use a pain relieving spray from pharmacist, use Difflam, its the most effective I have used for numbing pain.

I hope it gets better soon

Thanks pavlov.

Was just a bit of a shock this morning.

I actually think I have some corsodyl about from when I was pg so I'll give that a whirl. My mum swears warm, salty water cures all throat related ills
