And nobody else is home.

Anyone care to join me?

Slightly worried that it's going to be awful. Took them 20 mins ago. Nothing yet.

How long should they take to work?

DH had barium enema. He did need a laxative, but it wasn't so bad as the first time.
I'll ask him about it for you.
Enjoy a lovely dinner tonight!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/01/2009 16:49

It did me I'm afraid but I didn't find it so bad the second time.
Well done for today look after yourself this evening.

SimpleAsABC · 29/01/2009 18:01

Thanks! Had a yummy wrap for lunch!

Bleeding?? When doing loo.. any advice?

OP posts:
ThingOne · 29/01/2009 18:56

How much blood? If dribbles probably OK and just from being messed around with. If more call your out of hours GP service. You will probably get a triage call back from a nurse first, and she may be able to deal with you on the phone. I've found mine great.

Sorry you were so upset at the exam. It is hard. How much have you eaten ?

SimpleAsABC · 29/01/2009 19:37

a tuna wrap with some chips, a cadbury caramel egg and a few left over celebrations!

not THAT bad is it??

OP posts:
SimpleAsABC · 29/01/2009 19:38

candle queen, i hope you don't mind me asking and if you do please feel free to ignore me.

did you dh have the be after the endoscopy?

OP posts:
ThingOne · 29/01/2009 19:41

No. Everything acceptable today!

wiggleit · 29/01/2009 20:56

Hi ABC, so good to be tucking into food after that isn't it? ENJOY!!! not sure about the enema thing as never had one but i'm sure someone on here will advise you. Good luck! Hope all the things go well, when you got to do the enema?

CandleQueen · 29/01/2009 21:05

OK, First he was going to have a colonoscopy. But he had a small fit when they inserted the canula for the sedative (combination of fear of needs, lack of food and high stress), so refused to do the colonoscopy. So next appointment was for a barium enema, which he had just before Christmas. The results were inconclusive, so he had the flexi-sig on Monday. Everything was normal there, so I think the next stage for DH is CT scan or a visit to the shrink!

SimpleAsABC · 30/01/2009 12:30

Lol @ candle queen. I wonder if they weren't able to find out what the needed from me?

However, I do have to see my own doc in a fortnight so they must have something to discuss.

I'm really quite worried that they might think it's something serious

OP posts:
CandleQueen · 30/01/2009 13:18

If it's something really bad then I should think blood tests and flexi would have found something. Don't worry too much - I'm sure stress is not good for your symptoms (whatever they may be!)

SimpleAsABC · 31/01/2009 16:46

Unfortunately I don't get my results until I'm back my holidays!

Does you dp have IBS??

OP posts:
CandleQueen · 31/01/2009 22:57

Not sure. They seem to call any group of symptoms they can't explain IBS!
They thought it was diverticular disease, but the flexi showed it was clear.
I think they'll try for a ct scan next tp check out his colon properly.
MIL keeps suggest Coeliac (sp?) but his symptoms are episodic, and not triggered by bread/gluten.
I think they have already rulerd out IBD.

SimpleAsABC · 02/02/2009 18:57

Hmm. I wonder if it's things like that they are looking for with me then.

I keep thinking of the big C word.

OP posts:
Iworryalot · 03/02/2009 17:34

Getting ready for next one at 2pm, been having severe poo probs for 4 months now there can't be much left in me anyway so what's the next dose gunna do? It was already like water anyway , berium enema at 9am in morning bit nervous but think the starvation is going to be the worst! Any more advise would be great fully appreciated.

pinkfrocks · 28/10/2014 16:35

My experience was not good- I pooed for England and lost count of how many times. It took a few hours to get things moving then my God did they move.
Stay near the loo. You might be surprised how much comes out- and good luck tomorrow :)

Lolabeagle · 29/10/2014 11:52

Thanks, back home now had a horrendous night but it went okish today but thought my bum was sore yesterday but much worse today plus I thought I would eat for England today but no apatite at all! Gunna have a sleep now and fingers crossed they don't find anything but have to wait 10 days for results, Nanite x
