The Pill

I want to know what people think about long term pill use and breast cancer risks.

I was on the pill for 4 years before I came off to ttc DS1. I then went back on it for a year between having DS1 and ttc DS2. I have my 6 week check on Thursday and I am thinking of going back on it for a couple of years until we decided to ttc DC3.

I am a little bit worried about the breast cancer risk associated with long term use.

I don't want any of the coils or injections and I'd rather not run the risk of accidents with condoms.

Thanks.

Hi

I am 40 and have 6 children ranging in age from 16 to 6 months. I have been on and off pill for 20 years and have felt okay about it until recently. I think as long as you discuss fears and options with doc then you will be fine. Combination pill is best and has lower risk. I am only a little concerned now due to my age but I have bf my dc's so should have lower risk due to this.

Discuss with doc...good luck xx
