mini pill, breakthrough bleeding and breastfeeding

HI
I had DD 8 weeks ago, at my 6 week post natal check I decided to go back on the mini pill, which I had been on before I had DS1 5 years ago.
Within about 4 days of starting taking it, I have had a period or 'breakthough bleeding', which I know does happen on this pill, but I have never experienced it before and thought it was just supposed to be spotting, whereas this is a proper full on period (so far lasting 3 days) I am Breast feeding exclusively as well, and have never had a period whilst breast feeding before, so not sure whether all this is normal or not.

I had this too, and then nothing again, and my ds is 13 months now (still breastfeeding). I didn't ask anyone about it at the time but assumed it was just my hormones settling down.
