Spotting for 2 weeks after period

I have been spotting for 2 weeks after my period. I am 42 and my partner thought it might be the menopause (he told me on my 42nd birthday! ). Has anyone experienced this and what could it be?

Mid period spotting can be sign of peri menopause....I put a link to it -but best to get checked too...

Does it happen after sex, or just spontaneously?
