whats wrong with me

i had a bug like flu 2 and half weeks ago and now im having chest pains .i went to gp on monday he says ive pulled my chest muscles.
now i have breathlessnes just going upstairs and still have pains though not as bad as they were,stabbing dull pains in my chest and shoulder blades radiating down my arms.
also been having palpatations.
also had alot of wind ,burping lots do you think it could be acid reflux

I would go back to your GP and ask for some more constructive help!!

I had similar symptoms and was referred to a cardiologist back in July 08 for ECG etc...

Oh, btw - my GP told me I had a pulled stomach muscle once, when I went to him in agony with a temp and serious vomitting. Turned out it was apendicitus - which then ruptured

subsequently - i have very little faith in medical profession

thats what im scared of that they will fob me off the gp gave me cough syrup and i was in so much pain i called back and he gave me a script for codeine.
i have had a script for similar symtoms last month for acid reflux and they did work but have now run out waiting for repeat percription wont be ready til saturday.
im very worried about the breathless part its my worst fear not being able to breathe.
i know that if i need to i can call 999 ,its not bad enough for that but i do worry so much

have just took one of dh's gastro resistant tabs -same ingrediants just to see if it settles down then i will know

I think not being able to breathe is most peoples fear to be honest.

Sounds like you could use a chest x-ray. Have you tried the beloved NHS Direct to see what they say?

Go get checked out. These are not symptoms to ignore. At the extreme end they could be cardiac.

just been to the doctors on call
i have bronchitis
been given anti biotics
have taken some codeine for the pain
its so scary to be breathless

I'm very glad you went! You should feel much better as the codeine and ab's kick in.

Glad they found out what it was, don't mean to be alarming but had similar symptoms with pneumonia and that was misdiagonised. Anyway, if you are not feelign better soon INSIST on a chest xray. Get well soon!
