Very worried about my friend - having a lymph gland removed for tests

My friend has had a recurring cyst in the knicker area which has been dealt with twice in hospital.

She's been referred to the hospital a third time as it's back, and now they want to remove the entire gland because they're not happy and want to run tests.

Does anyone have any experience of this? Am at a loss as to what to say to reassure her. She was also dumped by her live-in partner of 4 years a couple of weeks ago so is having a really horrible time atm

It could be just a recurrent abscess or there could be something serious behind it and presumably that's why they've taken it out for a closer look. She really needs the results of those tests. Dealing with uncertainty can be awfully stressful but I think sometimes it's difficult to reassure someone and the best you can do is just to be there.

Thanks northwest.

I just don't know what to say to make her feel better, it's so hard.
