I feel I could just drop off to sleep in the week or so before my period is due. Is there any supplement that works? I eat well so it's not like I'm not getting nutrients. I'm on a low carb diet at the moment but I'm still eating lots of good stuff.
I know it's hormonal but it really gets me down. I'm out tonight with friends and want to have some energy but know It'll be a struggle.

I suffer with fatigue too and it is worse at different times of the month. I use spatone every day (its a natural iron supplement)and it really works. Its about £6 from boots for a months supply. its a clear liquid that you put in orange juice (or any juice that is high in vit c) I did keep coming off it when i was feeling well but within 6-8wks i would start feeling crappy again. i dont think it has any side effects either

thanks alicecrail, I have some spatone. A friend recommended it ages ago so I got some. I'll start on that again.
I've been googling and found that starflower helps so I went to town and bought some. It's 14.99 for 100 in holland and barretts. You only take one a day so it's good value.
I'll keep this link bumped as we can't be the only ones who get it?

I'm sure you are right dizzy, i'll look into the starflower

twentypence · 18/01/2009 08:41

I think you may need more carbs if you are tired.

JumpingDizzy · 18/01/2009 16:54

Too many carbs make me more tired for some reason?
I eat a lot of veg, fruit, lean meat, eggs and fish so have a good diet.
Anyway, started starflower so I'll see how that goes? Also took some Spatone.

Sounds like me JD. Carbs make me soooo sleepy and I always crave them Pre Men ish.

I did have energy last night and dance all night. Although it didn't end well but up to then I felt good. I don't know if spatone can work that quickly? I did take doublt the amount of starflower as I'd read of someone doing this at the beginning of taking it.

meant danced all night and double the amount.

I get this tiredness too, got reccommended a supplement that includes Evening Primrose and Starflower oils. Worked wonders and nails and hair improved loads too - people kept asking if I was pg as my hair looked so lovely and thick!

JumpingDizzy · 18/01/2009 17:18

I saw that one runningmonkey. I may try it if the starflower doesn't do the trick? Glad it worked for you though

I wonder if its a bit mind over matter?! I always feel better straight away from spatone and i doubt it can work immediatly

JumpingDizzy · 19/01/2009 14:34

It is absorbed easily though so if your body is in great need maybe it does?
My body clock is all to pot right now as spent until 4am at A&E sunday morning with a friend so I can't really say how I feel?
