Was just wondering if anyone can identify with my recent bout of the lurgy.
Basically, I started with a headache around my left temple/left ear area on boxing day. this continued and I saw my GP thinking perhaps it was an ear infection as the ear felt a bit muffled and generally not right. Was told that it didn't seem to be that and sent away.
Headache continued (in fact I have now had it for three weeks). In the meantime I had a couple of strange skin rashes which were quite light and came up and went away within a few hours. Then, in the past week or so, the rash started to appear more widespread and was up and down for a few days last week. Anyway, on Monday this week I broke out with a heavy cold which turned into full blown flu symptoms by Tuesday (terrible headache, stabbing face pain etc...). By Tuesday, I was also covered from head to toe in bright red spots. Over the course of 24 hours, the spots grew in size, merged together and then finally faded. This is now the 5th day since the cold broke and I'm just starting to feel a bit better, although the original headache persists. My GP is hoping that the headache is linked to the virus and that it will start to clear.
I have to confess I've been worried about the headache after having it for so long. Had blood tests done last week (about five days before flu symptoms broke out). They showed a couple of abnormal results, one of them being Thyroid Stimulating Hormone which I have to have rechecked in six months, the other being ESR which measures levels of inflammation.
Well, sorry this is such a ramble, think it's done me good to list it all out like this though!
