Blimey, I was a right wreck of emotions today, and have now noticed the start of a period. I guess this is what is known as PMT!!

Been growling about trivial matters, then suddenly feeling overboiled with teary emotions 2 minutes later, resulting in me blubbing in a fairly public place. Went to the toilet a little later, and there was the start of a period.

I am on a new pill after having problems with the old one, but have never experienced strong PMT symptoms before. Does this sound normal? I could cry again right now!

Sounds like pmt to me, I normally suffer from those symptoms a few days before though

Pinkchampagne · 14/01/2009 20:39

It's horrible - my poor DP suffered as a result today. Have never felt so out of control with my emotions. Just wanted to cry & cry, and still do!

you must have had the before?
can't you remember

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 14/01/2009 20:40

I have realised that this is happening to me
Is there anything we can take or do to ease it

I feel awful rage and its really not good

Pinkchampagne · 14/01/2009 20:45

It's horrible isn't it? I am normally prety laid back, but today I was a nightmare! I took everything very personally & either growled or cried! I said at the time that I felt a wreck of emotions, and then later I noticed my period was starting.
I have never experienced proper PMT before.

I do suffer but if I rememer in time, I take starflower capsules to try and ease, works the majority of the time. Everytime I am oing through it, I swear I am going to my gp to sort it out but then its the next time and I havent been

cikecaka · 14/01/2009 20:54

Supposed to read going through it not oing

Pinkchampagne · 14/01/2009 21:01

I'm in the early stages of PMT. Starts off with really painfull breasts and i can't wear a bra and DH better not touch them either.
I get quite tired and the DDs usual noise of playing really starts to grate and i get snappy.
Then i just want to have a drink come evening .
Oh, yeah also i come out in masses of spots on my face, back and even had some on my knees FFS!
I had hardly any Acne when i was a teenager. But i loved being pregnant as my moods and my skin were perfect! Well as close as poss.

cikecaka · 14/01/2009 21:08

Seven seas Evening primrose oil plus starflower oil capsules. Bought them in my local supermarket. one a day.

Pinkchampagne · 14/01/2009 21:31

Thanks for that - best I get myself some!

PC thats not like you (more like me!)

What happened today? (glad I was nice to you!)

Pinkchampagne · 14/01/2009 21:43

nothing major, PB, just was grr'ing one second then weepy the next! Not like me at all! Have full on period now so guess it was the before bit! Are you a PMT sufferer?

OP posts:
pinkbubble · 14/01/2009 21:48

Absolutely - each month I wonder what on earth is the matter with me, why I am I so upset over something so trivial, then wham(obviously not a heavy bleed because of the coil that I have fitted)I then realise why. I know it sounds daft, but because I dont bleed heavily, I never take notice of when its going to happen!

Most times I blame it on DH and his behaviour! 80% its true, the rest is mt hormones!

Hope you are ok!

Northernlurker · 14/01/2009 21:55

Do you just take the starflower and evening primrose at that time then or should you take it all month? I've got to do something - since I came off the pill (dh having had snip) my periods are lighter but the PMT is grim. Yesterday I nearly burst into tears just cycling along the road! It's not so scary now I'm used to it but over the summer just after I stopped the pill I thought I was sinking into some sort of decline - then I noticed it lifted when my period arrived...

Pinkchampagne · 14/01/2009 22:04

My period arrived just after my emotions went haywire, but went from very light period to a full on one in no time at all. Will look out for the starflower stuff. I don't want to become a hormonal wreck!

I get so anxious before my period, this crazy sense that something terrible is going to happen. Also I become clumsy, thick as shit and withdrawn.
Then, like someone else said on here , I start and the light bulb goes on and then it's back to the land of living.

cikecaka · 15/01/2009 11:05

Try to take the starflower daily every month but it says on the box that you can take them prior to your period.
I have a lot of the same signs as you tiredsville

saramoon · 15/01/2009 17:56

OMG welcome to the club, my sis and i get terrible PMT, this week i am due on and i am completely knackered, clumsy, forgetful, spotty and feel basically rubbish. Usually lasts for about 7 days or more and then i come on. Oh forgot, DH becomes annoying and i snap at the girls when i don't usually. My sis takes agnus castus and i used to take primrose oil but i didn't notice any difference really.

tiredsville · 15/01/2009 18:56

I might have a go at the starfish. Is it the same principle as Omega 3's?
I use to get spotty before my period religiously, but since taking high dosage B Complex this no longer happens. Unfortunately, it doesn't get rid of the other awful symptoms although it's suppose to at least now I am a crazy bitch with clear skin as oppose to a crazy bitch with spots.
