I have woken up today fine but within a latter of hours of being away i have suddenly become unable to stand strieght. I feel like i am majorly drunk but im not, even typing this i am swaying on my chair! I can't walk without going diagonally an eventually falling down.

What the hell is going on?

sounds like vertigo.. (is that the same as an ear infection)?
you need to see a dr to rule out anything else...

CharleeinChains · 13/01/2009 13:02

Well luckily i don't feel ill just wierd like i said i feel drunk! The room is spinning and im leaning all over the place.

I get vertigo after a virus and it's unpleasant but not serious.

Sounds like vertigo to me BUT, with the arm /shoulder pain as well I'd ring NHS direct for a qualified opinion.

singyswife · 13/01/2009 13:19

Can you not go today especially if you have lo's to look after.

Joolyjoolyjoo · 13/01/2009 13:20

Definitely check! But it could be labyrinthitis- I had this once and felt like I was on a boat at sea, horrible!

Botbot · 13/01/2009 13:21

My db had labyrinthitis and it started like that.

charlotteolivia · 13/01/2009 13:24

I've had labrynthitis, although had it a few times now and got tested for menieres (sp) but all clear. be careful going up and down stairs as i have swayed and fallen before and try not to move too suddenly...v hard with lo's!!

moonmother · 13/01/2009 13:31

You really need to see the Gp, but if you really cannot go till tomorrow, have you any travel sickenss pills in the house.

My Mum suffers with vertigo and her Gp used to prescribe her Stugeron, which is a travel sickness pill. She buys it over the counter now, as it's cheaper than on prescription.

It would help with the dizziness just till you can get to the doc's.

CharleeinChains · 13/01/2009 14:00

No i haven't got any travel sickness pills i would go to the docs today but i can't get an apt plus i know this sounds silly but i have auditions that i have been looking forward to for ages.

DP will be here in a sec so the kids are fine, they are snuggled on the sofa watching Cars.

My mum is driving me when i go out this evening.

I know the number of the emergeny gp clininc if i need it if it got any worse.

Thanks for all your responses.

Charlee,

Please ring the Dr and get an appointment today. It is probably, as the others have said, an ear problem of some sort but it is also the first sign of a stroke.

When I had this and rang the Drs they had me there within the hour - unheard of service. So to be on the safe side please ring them.

JumpingDizzy · 14/01/2009 19:48

how are you CC?
