Oh I have made a HUGE mistake! - dovobet!

I keep getting a manky ear and it occured to me (well, I googled and it came up!) that it was probably psoriasis (i have a patch on my arm) so, fool that I am, I decided to put my dovobet cream in my ear (well, googling suggested people use it there!! )

WHOA! OW. My manky ear has now turned into a mess! The whole side of my face has ballooned and it hurts like hell. Clearly I have made a terrible error.

Any thoughts? I need to clean it out because I cannot go to my gp with an ear full of dovobet and try to explain why on earth I thought that would be a good idea. But if I can clean it out, I can present myself with an ear infection. How can I clean it? Can't get a cotton bud in there! What can I do?

ps you can laugh!

OW!
Some damp cotton wool?
Sounds v painful.

HecateQueenOfGhosts · 13/01/2009 10:27

I have cleaned the outside (very sore!) but inside (ear canal?) is full of it and I can't clear it!

Oh I am SUCH a twat!

really, you must go to gp, leave it in there. I get psoriasis in my ears and have tried various stuff in there out of sheer desperation. Blame it on me and make an urgent appt.

just wanted to let you know, you're not alone. I regularly do this kind of self medication with disastrous consequences.

I feel your pain and hope you get sorted very soon.

How is it - did you see your gp?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/01/2009 12:48

bump - I'm being really nosy!

HecateQueenOfGhosts · 14/01/2009 15:27

No I am TERRIBLE for putting off going to gp! I got one of the kids med syringes and squirted warm water in to rinse it all out. It's now gone down a lot overnight and hardly hurts at all and is only a bit swollen, so I think it is sorting itself out.

I plan to go to gp tomorrow if it's still at all swollen and sore.

Probably.

Thank you so much for asking, you're luverly!

lol - I'm glad you managed to sort it!
