I have a lump/spot under my arm which has been there a couple of weeks.

Should I be concerned?

size? proximity to surface of skin?
Tender if you press it?
Any colouration?

nula · 11/01/2009 00:25

sudden or gradual onset?

nula · 11/01/2009 00:25

does it move around when you press it?

ThornyRose · 11/01/2009 00:36

Its been there for a couple of weeks, didnt notice it and then suddenly it was there.

I can hold the sides of it and move it around. Dont think its tender. it looks a little red in the mirror.

Its more long than round but I can cover it with my fingertip. It doesnt really stick up above my skin, its just really hard

if it is pea sized or smaller it is probably a lymph node.

possibly an infected hair follicle.
I would make a GP appointment for about ten days from now, and cancel the appointment if it goes away. Hope this helps

I woke up this morning and my left boob is really sore around the nipple area. This is the same side as the lump. The nipple area looks a bit red and puckered, should I be worried?

puckered nipple should always be investigated

Went ot the doctors and its just a spot that goes quite deep she said.

Thanks nula and jasper
