BREAST/OVARIAN CANCER AND CONTRACEPTIVE PILL LINK?

Any advice welcome please - I have been on Microgynon combined pill since i was about 16 (bar pregnancy obv) - approx 10 years. My mother died of breast cancer and grandmother recently from ovarian cancer.

Have been told by GP no need to worry about the pill upping my risk of either - is this right? Thank you

The pill lowers risk of ovarian cancer- the more eggs you pop, the more chance of somethng going wrong and cancer forming.
There is suppsoedly a small increase with BC with Pill use-I think it's after 10 years' use- best google Cancer UK or one of the breast cancer charities for more info.
