Hello
I have what I assumed was an IP in upper right 5

It is suddenly sensitive to heat, not cold, but the sensitivity lingers.

It is not sore to bite on as such, but percussive /hurts if you tap it, a little bit.

Only thing is I think it might already be a crown.
There would not be a crown with a nerve still in place, yes? Or might there? and if it is, can they take it off to get the nerve out?

I am a bit worried about what to expect is all, I like to have a rough idea in advance.

I am quite anxious to avoid antibiotics.
Thankyou if you can take a mo to answer.
x

Anyone? Sorry I expect you have had enough of teeth by 8pm

A tooth may be crowned without root canal treatment (nerve taken out).

A dentist can, in some instances, do a root filling through the crown rather than taking the crown off.

Thankyou Amanda - that's kind of you to reply.

Apparently it's already had an RCT so not sure what's going on there. Have got antibiotics to take if it doesn't settle.
