Ecoli - anybody know how long it takes to get the all clear?

Hi there - In brief my DD2 (17months) was confirmed as having ecoli on Dec31st. Thanksfully she's not been too badly ill with it and seems absolutely fine now. But both her and DD1 are exluded from nursery until we get the all clear from the Health Protection team that they are not infectious and present no risk.

We've been handing in stool samples to the hospital since Jan 3rd but haven't heard anything yet. Anybody been through this and know how long we might have to wait?

I should add that I am massively grateful that neither of my children have been really ill with this, as clearly ecoli can be fatal, but at the same time I'm going slightly bonkers as I can't really take them anywhere with other children until they have the all clear.....

Oh, blee - poor you and poor dd2. No advice, but just wanted to say hi and sorry you've had to deal with this - not the best start to the year! Hope someone else with more experience is around.
