What is this thing?

I was eating a poppy seed bagel earlier and i like to feel around after with my tongue to see if there are any seeds remaining, got to the upper, far back, left side gum and felt what felt like a poppy seed under the gum (i assume a seed can't work its way under the gum).

So on futher inspection it looks like a spot, small with a white head, there is just one. What is it, do i need to get it checked out? If it is relevant, i also have that sore throat/cough bug that is doing the rounds, connected do you think?

It feels like an ulcer now, it stings, it didnt earlier.

try bonjela on it but if it doesn't go in a couple of days see a dentist as it may indicate an underlying infection below the tooth.

I had something similar recently, turns out it was my one wisdom tooth starting to poke out the side of the gum.
