my friend starts chemo tomorrow, how quickly will she feel dreadful or is it a build up over a few weeks?

was wondering how she's likely to be after the first treatment tomorrow.

It really depends on the type of chemo drugs and doses that she is on. Most people feel worst a couple of days after the infusion, and often feel worse and worse with each cycle - although this is in part as they know it's coming.

There are many different types of chemo for different cancers. There are all sorts off different strengths and combinations, so I'd just talk/text your friend and see how she's getting on. Have a look at the cancerbackup website once you know what she is having.

thanks everyone. Had a text today and she sounds pretty upbeat as she's got the all clear from her CT scan and bone scan and coped ok with the 1st session of chemo. She has a total of 6 initially.
