Still bleeding after having dc3 5 weeks ago (Long)

I had a normal delivery and sustained a graze which did not need stitching. Lochia stopped three weeks ago but I have been bleeding bright red blood since then. I have been to the GP who prescribed antibiotics and on Xmas day I bled a lot more than usual so I spent the majority of the day in casualty. The gynae on call just told me to carry on taking the antibiotics and gave me synometrin in case I still had some stuff left in and advised if the bleeding got any worse come in for a scan. I haven't bled for the last two days so didn't bother going to the GP to arrange a follow up but I have just been to the loo and I am bleeding again. If it isn't a tear, an infection, stuff left over what could it be. It sounds stupid but I only seem to bleed when the baby cries. (Could it be hormonal/ related to blood pressure.)
If any one could help please

Are you doing too much?

I bled for 6 weeks before it started to tail off which is completely normal. Got much heavier if I was busy or stressed.

No, I have a lot of support from my family so I have actaully been taking it really easy. Baby is sleeping at night so I am getting as much rest as is possible with a totally breastfed infant

I bled for at least six weeks and the blood went bright red when I started doing more than usual .I had c-sections though so it may be different?

I bled more than 6 weeks after each of mine. All four were normal deliveries, two tears, one graze, one no damage. The longest was about 8 weeks of loss.

From memory, when the baby cries it triggers release of hormones that make milk. This hormone (oxytocin I think) is the same one that causes the womb to contract down to size. So you bleeding more / only when the baby cries sounds completely normal to me

I think I bled for 8 weeks and it was bright red, and would stop for two days and then another week/10 days of it. Always started again if I did a lot of bending over/got too upset/dd cried. Had a bad tear though

Yes - your baby crying could well be causing your womb to cramp (because of the release of oxytocin - which is the milk letdown signal). When your womb cramps you will bleed a bit more.

I bled for the first 2 weeks with DD3...thought it had just about stopped for a week (but not quite) and then it picked up again for another 4weeks...doesn't sound particularly unusual to me - unless the volume of bloody increases dramatically or you start passing clots larger than a 50p piece.

I bled for 16 weeks (was constant for about 8 weeks then got lighter). I was worried sick but my GP was never that concerned and said it does happen sometimes. I did lose quite a lot of blood after delivery. Was recorded at about 700 ml but was way worse then that cos i mopped loads up in bathroom and didn't tell anyone as I thought it was normal
