Why do some employers actually pay the employees a bonus if they don't take any sick time off? It's a whole topic of conversation - 'why do people struggle into work with flu/colds/coughs when they should stay at home and get well again, thereby not infecting everyone else' Flu epidemics would be reduced, colds would not spread etc. But of course if you do take time off, you are a malingerer!
I work in a old-people's home, and while I would not go in with a cold or flu, I know of other homes who pay a bonus if there are no sick days.
