My DH's "skin cancer" turned out to be a wart or why I will never self diagnose on the internet again...

I posted a couple of times, very scared because my DH had been given an urgent hospital appointment to get a suspicious mole checked out. I had googled "suspicious moles" and after looking at photos of serious spreading melanomas, along with facts such as men often got melanomas on their backs (which is where DH's mole was) was convinced that was what DH had.

He had the appointment yesterday, it was a wart, the consultant froze it off, end of story.

We are very relieved but I am so annoyed that I got myself into such a state with my googling. Thank you so much to the MNetters who advised not harrassing the GP for an ultra urgent appointment and that the "mole" could be a number of things, many not serious. Not only did you calm me down, you also stopped me making a fool of myself in GP's surgery ...

Glad it was OK. Saw your original post and was worried for you (I've had melanoma, so was too scared to reply!)

At least it shows the good old NHS is quick to respond...
