I had a really horrid sore throat and temp about 2 weeks ago, lasted about 4 days.

Last week ds1 started with a v bad cough, kept him awake all night with temp for two nights. His temp went away, but then he was sick - just once - on Friday.

Bit better over the weekend, but then was sick in the middle of the night, again just once. He looks knackered this morning. Not surprising as I have now had awful cough for 2 days, temp yesterday (now gone thank gawd) and his little bro is hot and coughing too. And getting 4 molars in at once, which doesn;t help - he has been literally clinging to my boobs all night!

I can't figure out what the sickness has to do with it, he isn't hungry, doesn't feel sicky - it just comes out of the blue.

Anyone else? He wants to go back to school today but not really a chance - hope he might be well before Friday...

Brussles, thankyou for the tip re codeine. I imagine yes, the sweating and nose blowing has a lot to do with dehydration. Yukky isn't it?

We took our DS to GP's this morning. He has the Winter vomiting bug???? and a chest infection. Despite regular paracetamol and antibiotics today he is still burning up and says that a man is going to get him reckons he is being chased by bad men!! Its going to be another long night.

Oh poor you. That sounds horrendous

I hope he is over it soon xx

Pinkfrog, anti-biotics usually start working after about 36 hours iirc so in the meantime I'd use ibuprofen to get his temperature down which is much more effective than paracetemol.

For the adults I'd recommend echinacea if you have the flu type virus (just seems to help you recover more quickly)

Well what a horrible night.
ds1 sick again before bed, just once though.
we all went to bed
Ds2 would not settle AT ALL and kept doing this high pitched cry whenever I removed my nipple from his mouth, literally - so he was stuck to me permanently.
my temp went up again to 39 for some reason. I was clock watching all night - it seemed to move about 10 minutes every time I looked at it. Ds2 finally asleep.

It feels surreal - no way will we make it abck to school before end of term at this rate. Cough is really violent and painful now

when do you go to GP? Or is it just a virus?

6 mindees, 1 DH, 1 me, we all have had the cough, snot, lethargy, high temps, within the last month.

All but me have started to get better, then thrown up diareaoh, the works.

By Friday I was down to 1 mindee!

They all came back yesterday, and I had to send the last one home with it!

We have now all got the 'Winter sickness bug' and DS and DH have a chest infection. No wonder our children feel dreadful. I have never felt this poorly before and I cant stop sobbing and wanting my mum?????? I am 52 FGS - my mum is 74!!!

am checking in.
Ds2 20mths had pneumonia last month and was hospitalized. Dd 6yrs had severechest infection October.
Now both have had the one vomit experience, followed by day of high temp. Dd has morphed onto night barking cough. Ds2 is just grumpy and restless and generally toddlerish.
Now ds1 14 is coughing his guts out and I woke with killer sore throat.
Aaasrghhhh

Christmas? Santa would be a mug to visit this house!
