Odd sound in ear

In my right ear it sounds like I can hear my pulse/blood pumping.

There isn't any pain, it's just annoying.

Any ideas? Do I just need to give my ears a bloody good clean?

You have wax. It's annoying isn't it. You have a pulse in your neck which is very close to the ear canal. Warm olive oil dripped into the ears is the traditional way to get rid of it. Don't poke your ears!

Or tension round your temporal-mandibular joint (TMJ). Try massaging the sticky-out bit just underneath your earlobe, and wriggling your jaw. If it gets really annoying and isn't wax see your dentist and get a mouthguard to stop you clenching the jaw.
