what does chicken pox look like??

can anyone tell me what the spots look like, i have tried to find images on the web but cant!

Raised red fluid filled spots usually but not always!!!!! Sorry can't be more helpful. I will see if I can find an image for you.

God that boy in the second picture looks like he has smallpox rather than chickenpox! (although I do remember thinking that about my children when they had chicken pox too!)

lonelymum, that pic looks like flea bites (which is what me/gp decided dd1 had and then sent her into nursery to infect even more people..)

You mean the picture I found? Yes it does look a bit mild but I think between us we found three very different pictures of chicken pox which I think is good for helping mrspink27 identify it.

absolutely lonelymum, i seem to remember they start off like the little blisters and then the scabs go a bit beserk.

Well, as I said, when my children got it, I couldn't stop thinking about those poor people in days gone by who would have caught smallpox and (if they were lucky) survived it and were scarred for life. But, no matter how bad your child looks, most of the spots do disappear very quickly and without trace (none of my children are scarred from chicken pox)
