Tender Boobs and stuff

My boobs have been really tender for the last couple of days. They are so sore I can barely touch them. I am not breastfeeding (My youngest is 2 1/2) and I don't think I'm due on. I've had the Mirena coil for 18 months now and have pretty irregular periods. I've also been pretty emotional and have had some lower back pain - as though I was coming on, last week. Can anyone tell me what they think this might all mean?

i get this sometimes.gp just said hormones and try evening primrose oil.works a treat.

I was concerned that if I went to the doctor she would say the same and hence didn't want to waste her time.

id go anyway.they did check etc for me which put my mind at rest.

Spoo · 10/12/2008 13:20

What checks did they do? I thought the coil was meant to even out hormone levels?

Is there a chance you are pregnant?

Spoo · 10/12/2008 13:31

Can I be pregnant on the mirena coil? I did have a panic this morning but I checked my strings and they are still there!

That is my biggest worry IB!! I really don't want to be.

maybe your pregnant .i would do a test just to settle your mind
the only time i ever has tender boobies was when i was pregnant.

IorekByrnison · 10/12/2008 13:44

I don't know much about the Mirena Coil, sorry, but have just googled and seen chances of conceiving with it are 1 in 1000, so I'm sure it will all be fine - good luck at the GP's.

Santa - the only time I have ever had tender boobs is whilst being pregnant that is what is worrying me!!

IB - The mirena coil is meant to be safer than sterilisation! I suppose I must bite the bullet and see.

I'll see how I get on at the GPs. I just wondered if anyone else has had this problem?

I used to get this every month just before my period. It stopped when I got pg. It might just be hormones.

Spoo · 10/12/2008 18:41

I hope it is. Doctors didn't ring me back. I'll wait and see how I feel tomorrow. Have had a sleep this afternoon.
