stopping taking the mini pill

I am currently on the mini pill and have decided to stop taking it. I have not had any terrible side affects of being on the pill apart from lack of sexual desire! I am sorry if TMI but before taking the pill I had a very healthy sexual appetite but since taking it I could not want sex any less! It has gotten to the point of me only having sex with DP once in the last 4 months and even then It was giving in to my DP nagging not because I wanted to! My DP has been very understanding but how long can you make a man wait!!!
I am a little worried as I have had many hormone problems in the past and am worried that when I stop taking the pill I will start to feel unwell. Does anyone have any advice or similar experiences?

have you tried different brands of the mini-pill? I have tried a few and have found they each affect me very differently (micronor ended up agreeing with me best). I'd advise before you stop going to your GP and explaining what's happened- they have the list with all the side effects etc. and may be able to find you one less likely to affect your sex drive. And you can usually start the new type of pill without taking a break from your existing brand so you would still be protected and wouldn't need other forms of contraception.

Good luck!
