anyone had the dreaded flu....sob

i ache all over , coughing, spluttering, my head feels its about to burst
been in bed last 2 days

it has been sometime since i had flu, how long does it last?

I started to feel rough last monday and ploughed through the week at work. On Friday, my day off, i felt really bad, achey and freezing cold. Have spent the whole weekend in bed - apart from a trip to the out of hours doc who prescribed me antibiotics for an ear infection and sinnasitus. Haven;t gone into work today but do feel a bit better. Know how you feel, i havent; been ill for years and it has knocked me for six. You need to rest, and drink lots. I think that it can go on for a while unfortunately. Hope you feel better soon

I went down with something two weeks ago today. Temperature over 40 for 3 days, aching, headache, bad chest, nose etc. I don't have any recollection really of those three days. Am a fair bit better now but have absolutely no energy and just as I think I'm getting better it comes back again.

According to a friend's GP it is a virus that lasts for 3 weeks and you fluctuate between being Okish and far from OK. To top it all we have no central heating or hot water until Tuesday and it isn't helping things. I haven't felt this bad since I got flu at university in 1993.

I am in the middle of it..... with added, um, 'd' which is particularly horrible. I keep consoling myself that at leat I will have lost a few pounds, which is the only vaguely cheery thing about this hideous bug which has knocked me for 6 since Thursday night.

I remember having flu about 15 years ago in my mid twenties but this has knocked me for six

dd1 has just had it, and had high temps for 6 days.....she's much better on day 8, but still coughing and very very tired. The GP said it could last up to 10 days, sorry

Hope you feel better soon, and can rest a lot - you may be surprised at how tired you feel after the worst is over.

well i can see me taking this week off work

DP has it, I've had it since last Monday (in bed Tues, Weds, Thurs) and still feel lousy. Felt not too bad Friday then worse yesterday. It's grim. Only good thing is that DD does'nt seem to have caught it, miraculously.
Worst thing is that DP and I are crabbing at one another all the time cos we're knackered and out of sorts. Don't know what to suggest, but hope you all get better soon.
