My 18mo has nits. Help!

My 18mo DD had a 24 hour D&V last night and while she was sleeping on me and I was stroking her hair I found a nit. I've got the nitty gritty comb and have caught another 10 or so, I;m not sure about eggs as DD was wriggling.

She was very upset by the comb but I thought I'd give it another go when we comb her hair after bath tonight. So anyway, I have a few questions:

  1. Is the nitty gritty comb enough given that I don't want to use anything else on an under 2yo.
  2. is teatree conditioner okay to use on a LO?
  3. how often should I comb?
  4. I think she probably caught it at her CM (who is lovely and wonderful with 2 school age children and one baby). How do I suggest she might want to check her kids and the other ones she minds?

  1. yes that shoulkd be enough 2)yes 3)I'd do it every day for a week or so, that got rid of DS's 4)Just mention that your DD has lice and maybe she might want to check the other kids/get the parents to check them?

(by the way, nits are the eggs, lice are the little creepy crawlies)
