I am prone to Kidney/urine infections but have never had these symptoms before. I also have pcos and suspected endometriosis could it be one of these causing it. Period seems to be messing about too could it be that?? Basically do I need to see a gp or will it go away as fast as it came?? TIA and sorry for rambling.

Appendicitis? Mine started like that. Sorry if that's alarmed you!

Hhhm give me your symptoms. I have been wakened in the night most of the week with it. It is like a dull ache all the time. Got so bad earlier I had to take painkillers for it. Dont feel ill or anything with it. WWhere did your pain go?? i.e down the leg round the side etc. Was thinking appendecitis.

I was 14, so this is a very long time ago...

I had three bouts of it over a period of about 6 months - dull ache on right-hand side, gradually getting more intense over a few hours, and then I'd start feeling sick and I'd throw up. The pain didn't go down the leg or round the side, but it did start spreading across the whole lower abdomen as it got more intense.

The fourth bout was much, much more painful, and I went to hospital (bizarrely, I was on a school trip to Brittany at the time) and they whipped my appendix out very quickly.

I reckon it isn't appendicitis though because you're not feeling ill with it - there was definitely a sickiness angle with me, and you've had the pain all week without any sickiness.

Have you tried NHS Direct?

I have a kidney infection. Deep joy. Thanks for answering though.

Ooh, nasty. Still, at least you won't be having to have anything whipped out any time soon.

Hope you feel better soon.
