bleeding please help x

i gave birth 11 weeks ago and went back on to the pill yasmin, i had a period before i had finished my tablets and nw the same has happened again its quite heavy and painful whats happening

The bleeding you get between pill packets is the effect of progesterone withdrawal which causes the endometrial lining to be shed. Bleeding before the end of your pill packet should be treated as intermenstrual bleeding unless you are running your pill packets together.

My concern is that you may have retained placenta which could get infected.
You should see your GP.
