For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Ooooh, do postcards, I'll buy a pack.

Glad you like the meditation thread, I was unsure about linking it. I don't know why, I get shy talking about meditation, always assume people will be about it.

My life sucks a bit at the moment. My boss is being sacked (well, her contract isn't being renewed) for being good at her job. The person replacing her is new in our office but very much an inside person in the organisation. Current boss, boss-to-be and bosses' boss are all in the office this week. Very tense. Am hiding - literally in my room and metaphorically by mning instead of doing anything remotely relevant to work. Gaah!

Sorry you asked now, aren't you? I apologise, I think I needed to rant a little.

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 08/12/2008 08:50

I am not wildebeest!

But I do know who she is
There is only one thing P.O. D. can possibly stand for!

Has anyone been in touch with Toot?

Are you there, Toot, and feeling any better? xxxxx

No apologies necessary Mango, stress at work is awful (from what I can remember!) as it is such a huge part of your life.

Well done Franny at the weight loss.

Boco · 08/12/2008 11:29

But WHAT does Pod stand for? Prince of Darkness?

Well done on weight loss Fra.

Guadalupe · 08/12/2008 11:39

I have lost a few pounds meself. Unless I put it all back on after that pork yesterday.

I am hoping our mortgage offer is in the post. We might be able to exchange contracts on Wednesday.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 08/12/2008 11:46

Silently passes Guadalupe a stress ball....

SmilesLikeNoOther · 08/12/2008 11:53

Lol...might be sorted before christmas? I'll keep something crossed

Guadalupe · 08/12/2008 11:58

We need to exchange by wed to complete before christmas, and we need as short a turnaround as possible as we are responsible for building insurance from exchange. And I need to kow we have the keys before then for my sanity.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 08/12/2008 12:07

Oh I hope so Guad, it must be such a headache, especially now.

I have work to do but am seriously lacking in motivation today. Should switch the computer off but am waiting for an e-mail.

Gives self a kick up the rear, Where is SB for a motivational whupping when you need her?

littlerach · 08/12/2008 12:22

Who is wildebeast??

And POD?

Tomatoes

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 08/12/2008 12:43

POD is not a fruit and vegger, she is just someone who liked to come and visit now and again because we are all so lovely to laugh at our hippy garb She can't live with us but can't live without us

Boco, as a hint, you might wish to swot up on rectouterine excavation. But unless you are an MN oldie, you may not understand...

littlerach · 08/12/2008 12:47

Oh, I remember POD.

Haven't a clue about wildebeats though.

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 08/12/2008 12:48

wildebeest is same person

littlerach · 08/12/2008 12:49

Duh.
Have now

TooTicky · 08/12/2008 18:06

Guad, if you roast your stress ball you may find it more toothsome. Doesn't count as a vegetable though, sorry.

Mango, good to see you back
Sorry things are stressful.

TooTicky · 08/12/2008 18:08

I've lost weight. My trousers keep falling down. Can't afford to replace so better start eating cake or something.

TooTicky · 08/12/2008 18:11

Dd2 has come up with an interesting idea. She wants a dummy. Apparently she needs one because..."you won't let me chew your nipples at night, mummy". God, no wonder I want to give up bf!
Now, the idea of replacing myself so easily is very, very tempting but it's not a good idea for a 3yo to start using a dummy, is it? What the hell else can she chew?

SmilesLikeNoOther · 08/12/2008 18:22

Wafts freshly baked cake in front of Toot......d'ya want to borrow my bit of string for trousers?

DasherDancerPrancerFMVixen · 08/12/2008 18:23

don't give her a dummy now, please! (Speaks as one whose elder boy still had one furtively at night at almost 5

Can you not bribe her with giving up at xmas because ''she is getting such a nice grown-up big girl now but Santa might get confused and bring her toys more suitable for a baby....''?

And get her a security blanket with fringing on to fiddle with?

SmilesLikeNoOther · 08/12/2008 18:25

Perhaps DD2 could borrow Guads stress ball if she has finished with it.

TooTicky · 08/12/2008 18:30

Yes yes, she can chew a stress ball. Fine. Or suck her thumb. None of mine do that.

TooTicky · 08/12/2008 18:33

She can't give up at Christmas because my mum will be here with her own special set of sensitivities and delicacies and everything will be more emotiuonally charged more than it has to be.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 08/12/2008 18:42

I'm sorry Toot, inappropriate humour.

I don't know what to suggest. Could you look for a toy that has (excuse me) 'nipple like' attributes. A doll or something.
