Spotting in between periods

Hi, i posted here a few weeks ago as i had a weird period, it started with spotting which was on and off for 5 days and then bled hevily for 4 days. Anyway my period finished a week ago and now i am getting spotting (old blood/discharge) sorry if TMI. Made a mistake by googling 'spotting'. Should i see my GP? i had a smear test 6 months ago and all was ok.

Are you on the pill? It can be a sign that it's not right for you and they can prescribe a different one. Have your periods always been regular?

Try not to worry. The fact that you've had regular smears and things are fine, are all great signs. Go see your GP and they can run through things with you x

How old are you, cos bleeding in between periods can become more common as we age, as do irregular periods. sometimes to do with hormones and as above certainly worth seeing gp.

Im not on the pill (havn't been for 2.5 years), i have had heavy periods since having dd2 (almost 3 years ago), i had spotting a few months ago and wen't to the gp, he wanted to put me on the pill but i refussed. We wanted to start trying foe another baby next year but i'm worried that it might not be possible because of the problems with my periods.

Definitely go back to see GP. Especially with your family history. I still wouldn't worry. You are young, have had regular smears and you've conceived in the past so all are good signs.

could it be to do with ovulation? I get a bit of spotting/coloured discharge with that. i was also given a test for chlamidia by my dr, just in case, as that can apparently cause spotting. I hope everything's ok, and good luck for ttc next year.

Please go and see your gp, and ask to be referred to the menstrual dysfunction clinic at your local hospital (if they have one).

They will give you a scan to make sure everything is ok.

Could also be down to infection, so they will do swabs.
