quick question about sickness certificates

i have been signed off for two weeks after an op, was given a cert which runs out tomorrow.

i will need a cert for this week too and have a hospital appointment on thursday.

will they be able to give me a certificate at the hospital? rather than going to gp. as obviously the doctor at the hospital will know more about my op and recovery than gp.

Not sure - think it has to be the GP - did they give you a letter to hand to your GP when you were discharged? If so, G should do without seeing you.

Don't think hospital do any certs beyond the first one.

no they didn't give any letters. thanks will call gp in morning.

I think you'll need to go to your GP, but I shouldn't think it'd be a problem in the circumstances. And they can backdate them so don't panic if you can't get an appointment in time.
