I've had two colds in as many months, what vitamins can people suggest?

I usually only suffer with one cold per autumn/winter, but I've had two colds in as many months.

I'm probably a wee bit run down as I have an 11wo, however I eat about 4 of the recommended 5 a day and I only feed once in the night, so I'm getting ehough sleep.

What multivits or supplements can people recommend to keep these dreaded colds away? Dealing with a baby and feeling awful is hard work!

Thanks in advance

It's not a vitamin, but echinacea is supposed to help boost your immune system. I was told it's best to start taking it the minute you realise a cold is coming, but my mum takes a low dose on a daily basis, and says that she's had fewer colds.

Vitamin C and zinc might also be good in this instance. I take a multivitamin and mineral supplement most days (though I realise I've forgotten to take it since Friday - which may help explain why I've now picked up ds3's cold ).

When my children were getting repeated viral type infections, I put them on daily multivitamins and that did seem to help.

Thanks sunnygirl, I have thought about echinacea. I think I'll give it a try

I hope you feel better soon.
