I'm covered in them. I dont know how I have gotten any of them (ankle, knuckle, wrist, legs, thigh) - anything to be concerned around?

mmmh hopefully not but worth thinking about getting a blood test to check your platelet count - in case they're low and you are consequently bruising more easily than usual. platelets are measured as part of a full blood count (checks whether you're anaemic too). platelets often fine though in this situation but worth checking. if low, can often be temporary eg reaction to viral infection etc so don't worry unduly.

I bruise easily too....unfortunately some of them are genuinely gained from walking into doors !!!

am so hoping not another viral infection. had one this time last year which I ended up in hospital with!

I dont have a clue how I have done some, the one of my ankle I tried scrubbing off in the bath, assuming it was muck

Will tootle off to the docs. Got an ulcer on my tongue as well, so possibly just run down!

Out of interest what occurs when you do have a low platelet count? I have always assumed nothing, therefore have never had mine tested.

Do you take steroid inhalers? Started any new medication recently?

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 20/11/2008 18:21

No inhalers, and the only medication change is coming off the mini pill.
