Pre Cancerous Cells :((((

Having had bordeline changes in previous cervical smears I should have seen this coming.

Had to go to the colposcopy clinic last month for a biopsy which has come back showing pre cancerous cells. Been told not too worry as its caught early and will just need the cells cut out and monitored for a while.
Anyone else had this done? Dreading it as having the locla up my fango last time was bad enough

i had precancerous cells, magnolia. i had laser treatment. It didnt hurt, was just a bit odd, and a bit faffy afterwards having to put cream up there to prevent infection.
Went onto 3 monthly smears, then 6 monthly, yearly and back to the usual 3 years. no further problems, so far - it was nearly 15 years ago.

i found the colposcopy the worst bit so hopefully, it'll get easier for you. good luck.

i had the local, biopsy and lasering the cells out, it smells!

had a bit of bleeding afterwards and slight discomfort up there but not too bad really when you think what you would have to go through if you left it!

had checks every six months and currently on yearly.

but no its not pleasant really! you'll be fine!

I had this done 1997. No laser treatment but what was akin to a piece of cheese wire

I had annual smears for a while and now back to every 2 years and no abnormalities since.

Nothing to worry about

sorry, every 3 years.

ditto everyone else who has posted - really not that bad at all, and significantly better than the alternative!
