Hi Candyfluff
It sounds like the teeth-grinding is the problem - you create a lot of tension in the jaw muscles when you grind, and this causes the ache (and can cause headaches too). I ground my teeth during a very stressful time in my life, and got a mouth-guard from my dentist for it. It was a pliable plastic which stopped me from clenching my jaw in my sleep and stopped the ache. It also stopped the damage to my teeth . Might be worth a chat with your dentist.

I was never aware of grinding my teeth either but it was loud enough to wake up my DP (now DH) and this is the man who can sleep through our childen crying!! He said it was a really unpleasant noise, and sounded painful.
