Vaginal Tissue Swab question

fanjoissue · 18/11/2008 19:42

I had a smear last week and asked to have a swab for BV as I have had two miscarriages and wanted to rule this out. Nurse said it was unlikely I had it as (TMI) there was no smell.
The nurse also offered to do a swab for chlamydia. The chances of me having it are small as have been with DH for almost 10 years, neither of us have been with anyone else in that time and I think I am right in thinking that if I had had it all this time I would have developed PID and/or had difficulty conceiving. I have had two DC and fell pregnant straight away with both of them.
I rang the doctors today for the results of the swab and the results for high vaginal swab, which I think is the BV one is not back yet but there was a note next to the vaginal tissue swab results that I needed to have a telephone consultation with the GP. The appointment is tomorrow but I am really worrying about what the problem could be. I have googled vaginal tissue swab but have found nothing of any help- is this the swab for chlamydia? Could I have had it for almost 10 years without knowing or could it be something else? If so what? If anyone could shed any light on this I would be most grateful. TIA

I think that you can have chlamydia without having any symptoms at all.

Not sure how long for though.

If it helps I have had BV swabs done from low and high...so don't read too much into which test results are back and which are not.

Wait to speak with GP and all will be revealed.

Thanks for he replies. DoNot- I'm not good at waiting! I know it's nothing hugely serious as I expect if it was I would have to go i for an appointment but am worrying nonetheless!

could be anything - but most likely will have shown some thrush or something and tel cons will be to see if you are having symptoms (as if you aren't you don't need treatment for that.)

HTH
