post-partum periods

My DD is 11m now, still breastfeeding her. I have only had 1 period since she was born (lucky me!) and that was about 6.5m ago. I have done a pregnancy test today which was negative. I didn't think I was but felt I should rule it out. I think things will maybe just take a while to settle down, back to normal. What have been other people's experinces?

My cycle is still not regular (dd is 15 months) like you, first period didn't happen until around 10-11 months after the birth.

I think that possibly as your hormonal levels are still fluctuating with the feeding, your cycle my still remain unsettled. Don't rely on it as contraception though (unless you really want another one soon!)

I did wonder when you put "6.5 months"

don't think a test would be necessary by then!
